How did your D&D session go? What happened???

Not sure if you want the basics or the story of our adventure, so I’m gonna put both. Read whichever you want ><

Overwiew:
As usual for us we took about an hour to actually get started, and then we hit level 7 so had to spend a while on that. We started the third book in the rise of the runelords campaign and got to the second battle in that.

Story:
We informed the mayor that he was being stalked, he rewarded us with gold and weapon enchants. We had 3 weeks of downtime in the city while the weapons were being worked on to do shopping and anything else we couldn’t do in the smaller villages. (Our rogue hooked up with a barmaid, and our ranger ran around rooftops pretending to be a dwarven batman) We were then informed that some people from a fort (I’m so bad at remembering names) hadn’t been seen in a few months and were hired to investigate. We took a boat to the nearest village, and with a very high perception check, noticed an excessive amount of people with sihedron tattoos. We couldn’t get much information from the townspeople so set off toward the fort. Found a trapped bear on the way, I used speak with animals, found out he was an animal companion of one of the rangers from the fort who had been captured, and then freed the bear and followed him towards where the ranger was being held. We fought a sort of ogre creature and his dogs, and then one very large ogre.  After that our DM was getting tired and had to walk home so we ended for the night.
